Peace activists gathered in Madison on Friday, March 20 to protest the war in Iraq, on this - the 6th anniversary of the invasion/occupation. (Video.) After a vigil on the Capitol steps at State Street, we moved across the street - to visit Senator Herb Kohl's office. There we left messages of concern (photo)about the need to end this war! There are so many costs the last six years - lost lives and homes and devastation of economies. And it appears there will only be more years of war ahead, with a troop "surge" now ordered into Afghanistan. There were messages left of "Healthcare, not warfare" and "Bring the troops home now". We were told Senator Herb Kohl was not available to talk with us.
