Cornwall, CT

The following letter was sent to Congressperson Chris Murphy and Senators Chris Dodd and Joe Lieberman. (We try to do this to maximize the impact that our local events have.)

Dear Representative Murphy--

We write to inform you that your constituents in Cornwall have not forgotten the occupation of Iraq, nor do we intend to turn a blind eye to the escalation in Afghanistan.

On March 19, the Iraq Moratorium was observed for the 19th consecutive month in Cornwall. This was a lower-key event than many we have held. About a dozen people gathered at the Cornwall Library to discuss what the new Democratic administration is doing in Afghanistan, and also the impact of the enormous costs of occupying two countries on the deepening economic meltdown.

We will continue to protest and organize to end these occupations and the waste of human life and resources they represent. And we will be following your positions and watching your votes in the hope that you will represent the interests of those who elected you and do everything in your power to bring the troops home. Now!

Sincerely,

Dody Clarke
